Maria LaLondeBio: Maria LaLonde is the Recruiting and Development Leader for Bizdom U. Maria oversees the recruiting and interview processes and connects with the community to raise awareness about Bizdom U as an available resource. Maria was born and raised in the city of Detroit and the Detroit metropolitan area. Her background includes a successful career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where she managed branch offices and oversaw the recruiting process for 35 branch offices. She has also been a top producing Realtor in residential real estate. Maria has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and has owned businesses in the fields of recruiting and the automotive industry. Maria is passionate about doing her part to create a vibrant and thriving community in Detroit. She believes that encouraging diverse, growth-oriented businesses is essential to the creation of a brighter future for Detroit.
Dug SongBio: Dug Song is co-founder & CEO of Duo Security, a startup offering two-factor authentication as a service to stop online fraud & account takeover. Dug was previously VP Engineering at Zattoo, Europe\'s premier Internet TV provider which he helped grow 10x to 5 million subscribers in 24 months. Dug spent 7 years as founding Chief Security Architect at Arbor Networks, capturing over 70% of the world\'s Tier-1 service providers and reaching over $100M in annual revenue before its acquisition by Danaher (NYSE: DHR). Prior to Arbor, Dug built the first commercial network anomaly detection system at Anzen Computing, acquired by NFR Security, acquired by Check Point (NASDAQ: CHKP). His contributions to the open source community include popular network security (OpenSSH), distributed filesystem (NFSv4), and secure operating system (OpenBSD) projects.
Bill MayerBio: Mr. Mayer has founded and exited multiple startups in the technology and finance sectors. His areas of expertise are in finance, securities and quantitative analysis. He has founded and worked with numerous businesses covering a broad range of industry sectors ranging from startup ventures through Fortune 500 companies. Client engagements have covered a broad range of services including market strategy, portfolio structure and the IPO process. Mr. Mayer has managed over $125 million in client assets. Areas of specialty are financial modeling, pricing strategies, the process of private and public equity securitization, management of business assets, and fundraising. He has extensive experience in creating financial models, business valuations, capitalization tables, as well as navigating advanced business tax issues and the complex issues surrounding securitization. This allows Mr. Mayer to effectively position clients from an investor’s viewpoint in order to maximize a venture’s ability to receive funding.
Doug NealBio: A
serial entrepreneur, educator and technology executive who is passionate about creating startups, Internet technology and enjoying life! Currently Doug is the Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) at the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering where he participates in architecture and teaching of entrepreneurial educational programs as well as co-curricular programs that facilitate the growth of entrepreneurship knowledge and experience by students, faculty, staff and alumni. During his time at the CFE Doug has implemented operational programs to streamline program and course development at the CFE to maximize efficiency; Led the formation of a student startup accelerator (TechArb); Led adoption of lean startup and customer development methodologies at the University of Michigan and designed their inclusion into the fabric of the entrepreneurial education processes and is responsible for teaching students the basics of the entrepreneurial mindset as well as lean startup and customer development entrepreneurial processes.
Marc WeiserBio: Marc is a founder and managing director of RPM Ventures. Marc is an active member on the board of the Center for Entrepreneurship, at the University of Michigan\', where he is an adjunct professor. He serves as an advisor to the Wolverine Venture Fund, a student-led venture fund at the Ross School of Business. In addition, he is an investor and advisor to a number of non-technology companies and was named to Crain\'s Detroit Business 2006 \"40 Under 40\" list.
